Ah! I fucked up! I’m busy listening to the pod cast. I see how you and Carissa’s voice act like the sirens in the Odyssey. I am but a lonely sailor, with an Ipod and lousy internet connection adrift in the Theoc-ra-sea or the USA.
I pony’d up 60 bucks up front and was expecting to get the ‘hard core membership’. My fault. Can you change my membership? I need the bonus shows, I’ve run out. I need my fix. I’d reference William Shatners Tek-War, but i can’t see where I can fit that in. I actually found the old CD-Rom game. Yes, I was that desperate back in the 90′s. Regards, Al.

On your ageism rant, I don’t think it makes sense to paint a particular age group as being in any way uniformly one way or another. At the ripe old age (creak, groan) of 65, I’m arguably from the baby boomer age group and when I was at University (Saskatoon, Sask, 1965-1971), we hippies, commies, and general shit disturbers were just as distinctly a minority as the equivalent progressive cohort were in Gen X and are now. If anything, the proportion of activists has declined somewhat in your generation because it is just so much more of a struggle to “make it” in today’s 99% / 1% divided society. There were always batshit crazy religious nuts and “I’ve got mine!” conservatives. Unfortunately, every generation has to keep up the fight against those assholes. It probably would be more helpful to reach out to the progressives of all age groups rather than make invalid generalizations about the characters of different age groups. It doesn’t help that the selflish assholes of all generations now have their own dedicated TV network (Faux News) which tells the world 24×7 that greed is good and helping out “the less fortunate” just encourages them to be lazy. On the bright side, I read an article in NewScientist magazine a few weeks ago where someone who has scientifically studied the political mood of the US for the last 7 elections and has correctly called the winner each time. That person (whose name I’ve forgotten) says it will be Obama by a landslide this time. Here’s hoping. While I fall in the “well-off old fart” demographic against which you rail (not so well off that my wife doesn’t bitch about me pre-buying your book), I agree that your anger is somewhat justified. I’m almost (not quite because it doesn’t effect me directly, but will effect my daughter) as pissed as you that Harper is raising the retirement age.

I especially enjoy your podcast when you have Carissa on. I’m amazed that her voice sounds as good as it does given her fire-exhaling proclivities. I would have expected her to sound more like one of the sisters on The Simpsons.

Keep up the good work, and when TF is your bible stories book gonna come out?
