    Actually there is an evolutionary explanation for the Crohn’s disease but different from what you propose. Some scientists think it is an (auto)immune hyperreactivity to a G- bacteria called yersinia enterocolitica. It is argued than an overreaction to yersinia pestis in the ages when plague was killing millions was a genetic advantage of some of the blessed survivors. Nowadays when plague has been eradicated this reaction to a much less dangerous sister of yersinia pestis actually turned into a disadvantage. But well, that’s how evolution works.

    As for the other disease – colitis ulcerosis – there is no such theory but it is believed that it might be causes by a virus and other enviromental factors, like drugs …
