Not up to snuff

Hey guys,

I know some of you might be wondering where the regular podcast is this week. Well, Carisa and I recorded one on Tuesday, but to be quite honest, it was rather terrible. I’ve been in an awful mood ever since the embarrassment that was the “Elevator-gate” last weekend. The show was originally going to be about those events, but when I went back and listened to it, my instincts told me to bury it. So I’m sorry to say that there’s a lost show you guys won’t be hearing for a while. Maybe in some distant future I’ll release it, but for now I want to focus my attention on more important things.

Sorry about that gang, but you know me: I refuse to release anything that doesn’t meet my standards. Can you all forgive me for depriving you of your crack this week?

Meh, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. To be honest, I’m sick of hearing about it (from both sides of this non-issue). Everything has been blown out of proportion, by bloggers and commenters alike, and for no good reason.
Still looking forward to your next show, keep up the good work.

Looks like I’ll have to go and score some *real* crack this week.

Hey, it’s all very cool for me. I am tired of that whole tempest in a teacup anyway. Besides, why would I want to listen something that sucks donkey balls anyway?

You want to bury it? I can provide the shovel.

What kills me is that she’d complain so much about actual sexual selection in progress.

Probably for the better; I can’t stand reading the actual “involved” parties (that being Rebecca and Stef) muttering on about it over the past two weeks, let alone the unrelated-but-self-righteous third parties (Dawkins, PZ, ERV, McCreight).

By the way, among the non-commenters that were surprising in their non-commenting (i.e., part of their pidgin is the intersection of gender equality, which this somehow got interpreted as an issue of, rather than an instance of ill-thought behavior) was Greta Christina.

I’ve got respect for that: the ability to filter out this sort of noise from the background of real concerns. Dawkins saw it as the non-issue it was, but for some reason chose to elevate it by speaking (condescendingly) on the matter. That was stupid, Richard. I know you like to occasionally be a dismissive ass, and it’s always pretty entertaining (even this time), but seriously, you had to know the result.

But yeah, I don’t think I’m going to complain about the missing show.

Sick of the whole fiasco. However. When it happened and people’s scalps started to melt off, I was sorta curious what Carisa’s take on it was. I often find her views on sexuality/feminism interesting. I know thats not what the initial issue *should* have been, but thats where the discussion turned.

Anyways… ummm…. GET BACK TO WORK JAKE!

    In addendum:

    Google+ = Google’s attempt at ‘facebook.’

In beta as of now, so like when gmail started, need an invite to get in

Did I get the wrong message or have elevator rides suddenly gotten sexy?

Mate, at less that 8 bits an episode, I consider this a donation, rather than a subscription. Don’t beat yourself up if you’re not feeling it, just don’t go mental either, and you’re golden. Anyhow: always enjoyable, and thanks again. Sol Invictus!
