Penn: Agnostics suck!

I agree that agnosticism is annoying as hell, especially those that start accusing non-believers of being dogmatic. Yeah, because rejecting a poorly constructed cosmogony means that you have a closed mind…How about showing me some fucking proof? That’s all we want. Until then, my own agnosticism will remain open to the possibility of someone showing evidence of an all powerful entity, and that’s about it.

Only criticism: the back and forth camera shit makes me dizzy, honestly.

After a few minutes I had to push the video off the screen and just listen.
    I am A-theist, I live my life ‘without g0d’.
g0d is irrelevant,exist-doesn’t exist. Who cares?
The rules of the universe do not recognize supernatural so it is all irrelevant. But when it comes to allah-zeus-thor-yeowway-cheezus it is ALL BS.

Is he serious about Luke 19:27?

Penn please stop looking back and forth so often between your cameras. It is really distracting. Other than that it was another solid explanation of the various terms that are thrown about but nothing extraordinary.

    Re: Luke 19:27
This is actually one of the few cases where the bible *may* be being taken out of context. The passage is part of a parable told by Jesus as he’s entering Jerusalem. The parable and it’s message are questionable… but going by just that one line implies that Jesus is calling for the death of his detractors. That simply isn’t the case.

He hit the nail on the head. I don’t get the whole agnosticism vs. atheism thing. It’s a false dichotomy. Agnosticism/gnosticism is concerned with one thing: knowledge. It’s all about whether one claims knowledge of the existence of god(s). Atheism/theism, on the other hand, is concerned with belief. It has to do with whether one believes in god(s). I’m an agnostic atheist. I have no direct or indirect knowledge of the existence of any god or gods, and I therefore have no belief in any god or gods.

Why do people have such a hard time getting this?

@Kyle: Are you talking about Penn Gillette, because he doesn’t use drugs or alcohol. He has a whole other set of favorite vices. He’s the talker in their show, so his nervous gesticulations are part of his shtick. It’s part of his misdirection.

Jake, dude, you need to learn more about agnosticism.

    Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strong_agnostic

also read this: (not about agnosticism)

Jim, I know Jake gets it. He’s talked about the difference between the dictionary definition of “agnostic” and the agnostics who think agnosticism has to do with beliefs, or just pick agnosticism because they think it sounds nicer than atheism.

Jake just needs to be more clear about which one he’s discussing. Still, we love him anyway.
