Vatican upset over being called out on their shit

When you hear the words “disturbing trend”, do you think of society’s growing acceptance of same sex unions? If you do, then odds are you’re being ostracized by friends and family members who feel embarrassed by your outdated views. A number of us have moved beyond the Bronze Age and recognize homosexuality as a development of evolution, the same way your eyeballs and fingernails are. A gay person can no more suppress their sexual attraction than a straight one. In any case, the distinction is archaic: we’re all fucking human.

Not according to the Vatican though. These assholes believe homosexuality is a sin because a bunch of stone age sheep fuckers decided a few¬†THOUSAND¬†years ago that such unions were against the will of their imaginary friend. And while they’ve abandoned an unbelievable amount of archaic beliefs that make it impossible to live in modern society (like stoning their children to death for swearing), they’re sticking with this one. Gays, as far as they are concerned, are an abomination, and they want the right to tell you so without feeling persecuted.

“People are being attacked for taking positions that do not support sexual behaviour between people of the same sex,” he told the current session of the Human Rights Council[of the UN].
“When they express their moral beliefs or beliefs about human nature … they are stigmatised, and worse — they are vilified, and prosecuted.”

The irony here would be hilarious if it wasn’t so tragic. A group of outright homophobes are upset that society is telling them to “shut the fuck up” with all this bigoted nonsense. They don’t like to hear their opinions aren’t welcome at the grown up table, and now they are crying to mommy.

We’ve seen the writing on the wall, written in the blood of young gay teens who took their lives because of feelings of shame and self hatred. This shame – a direct result of the campaign of hatred and intolerance from the Catholic Church – has fueled more than it’s fair share of fires that have ravaged the lives of millions of people. You’ll forgive us if we think you should stop being the bad guys for once. We’ve put up with your child raping and baby thefts, but I’m not sure why exactly.

    So very true!
But I really don’t blame the pope or any church leader.
The sheep get what they deserve!
I’m just very sad about the sheep’s kids who are the innocent ones here.

And to think they opposed the distribution of condoms to Africans in the hope of slowing the spread of AIDS.

The Catholic Church is morally bankrupt. I just can’t stand them when they blubber over their “Gawd-Given Rights” to support bigotry. They are fit for the history books since the early 1800.

Replace the sexual behavior point in his statement and replace it with any racial struggle past or present, and you have exactly why the Pope is so obviously wrong on the issue of homosexuality. And btw, before someone jumps in here and takes issue with my comparing the homosexual rights issue to racial struggles, many of the parallels *are* there. I know non-white gay persons who are very much affected by the issue in the same way than if they were straight, but of a different race.

Could the Pope have possibly made a plea that is any more a case of special pleading than this one? He is actively lobbying for bigots to be able to be bigots and not face repercussions. If I were to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he’s just making a decent point really badly – the point being that support for homosexual rights shouldn’t unnecessarily damage others – oh who am I kidding? Of course he’s not saying that.

Geeze, doesn’t it make you think sometimes? Do we even need to be doing this? It’s like they just keep making our jobs easier and easier. Honestly. It’s like someone raping a girl and saying, “Why are you mad at me!? She’s the one that wouldn’t let me have sex with her!”

Mighty… Not that different from saying that she was asking for it by dressing slutty, and thats a legitimate tactic of argument from certain religious people.

So the ecclesiasticals of the Roman Catholic Church think homosexuality is a sin, yet how many homosexual priests are there? How many molest little boys? How many molest teenage boys? How many engage in sexual activity with non-clergical men? How many engage in sexual activity with other clergymen? Yeowie Kazowie! The Pharisees have landed! Not that there is a problem in being gay. There isn’t. It is the two-faced hypocrisy about engaging in homosexual activity and acting pious about Catholicism that is the travesty.

Besides that, religion debilitates the human brain, whether it is Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, Judiasm, Muslim, Hindu, whatever.

“Show me on this doll where the priest touched you.”

Show me on this GLOBE where the Catholic Church has touched US.

Poor lambs. It’s a bit like a paedophile complaining that being gay upsets Santa.

    Actually it’s exactly like that.
