7 reasons why creationists are stupid

Ok, that’s not what this video is actually about, but as you can tell from watching the first few seconds (turn off the sound if you want to avoid associating Coldplay with scientific illiteracy), the guy who made this obviously thinks this is super-science. Now I’m not going to bother to refute all of this dude’s incredibly laughable arguments; I’ll let you guys tackle them individually.

My favorite has to be #3: his complete ignorance of the Second Law of Thermodynamics (which says absolutely nothing about about the Big Bang). I guess he thinks since a mysterious law exists that leads to increased entropy, the Universe couldn’t have formed without Super Jesus there to supervise the process. Case closed!

Rebuttal #1: “Beilieve” is actually spelled ‘Believe’. Owned!

    Utterly, utterly wrong.

It is quite astonishing that the person who made this has absolutely no idea what evolution actually is.

It even contradicts itself. One slide states that a probability of 1 in 10 to the 40,000th power is an impossibility. Assume that this calculation is true. Even granting this enormous error, the statement describes a very unlikely event that has the chance of 1 in 10 to the 40,000th power of occurring, not an impossible event.

But hey, this just goes to show that if you do not understand what is meant by ‘evolution’, and what is meant by a scientific theory then you are bound to get things wrong about it. I know pretty much nothing about how a car works, but I wouldn’t dream of going to a garage and start telling the people there that they were wrong about how to fix a car.

“Evolution is a fairy tale for adults” It sure made my day. Well, religion IS the biggest fairy tale. Here on Europe there are (almost) no creationists, even christians realize that evolution is true! I’m really sorry for you guys on America that have to face them, but don’t worry, for science, reason and logic are on your side!

Wow I think that guy is actually wrong 7 out of 7. The odds of that has to be at least 1 in eleventy zillion. also, I’m fairly sure that Hoyle promoeted panspermia, so I guess it evolution can only happen in space.

The odds of 1 in 26 to the 44th power does not make it impossible. Possibly 99% of evolutions are lethal or harmful (I’m highly skeptical ‘GODISREAL13′ has any real scientific backing for any of this, but let’s roll with it), but even 1 in 100 sounds like pretty good odds to me.
These percentages are what make life so incredible. I don’t care for people telling me that I am not appreciative of the life I have, because, if we want to listen to GODISREAL13, we shouldn’t be here. The odds of our existence is like flipping a coin into the air and having it land bouquet of flowers.
Also, and I’m just going to throw this out there: evolution is a theory. Most people who believe in it are aware of it. It is an idea that helps scientifically and critically examine the world around us. I believe in it, but as much as I can without having witnessed every step along the way myself.
    There.
I admitted to it being a theory.
Can we put the Bible in fiction yet?

What’s the title of the video? The link isn’t working on my iPhone (but strangely Rand Paul does). Thanks.

I had always wondered why Anti-Evolutionists thought they could see obvious gaping flaws in the research and findings of the greatest scientific minds on the planet. Watching this video made me realize that the Anti-Evolutionists are really looking at the world from a point of view that accepts “God did it” as the entire reason for everything. When scientist try and explain something that contradicts the Anti-Evolutionists simple explanation they don’t see the scientist as well researched they see him as a simple man tricked by Satan. There is no respect for the scientist as someone who has proven his case based on the evidence and research, he has simply not followed God, been lead astray by evil forces and should not be trusted or followed. Interesting. I guess I kinda knew some of that but this video really helped it all come together. Thanks GODISREAL13 for giving me another piece to the sad and horrifying puzzle that is my understanding of religion.

Even the front page is a fail. “The theory of evolution is only a hypothesis. It is a logical fallacy…”

    Well which is it?

    a : Theory
    b : Hypothesis
    c : Fallacy

According to this guy, all three!

Finally saw the video, now I will try desperately to forget it.

Also ramapithecus wasn’t a hoax, but a misclassification that was fixed when further evidence was found (actual science was performed)

“New lifeforms could not have come through a series of unfavorable mutations.”

But…. that’s why there came to be new lifeforms? They were unfavorable to the previous species, which caused them to die out and be replaced by their evolutionary predecessors.

And why are the first couple of “scientific reasons” dealing not with Evolutionary Theory, but with The Big Bang Theory? Is it really that hard for Creationists to differentiate those two after all these years?
