Welcome back to another episode of the Good Atheist. I’m in Calgary, Alberta for a few weeks, and that means the amazing Carisa Hendrix will be on hand to help me record the show. This week, we talk about the Vatican forbidding priests from marrying people at sea, why young people aren’t as religious as their parents, and why Atheists are apparently “brainwashed”.

Oh by the way I sent you that “sinners bible” thing on the 2 December 2009, and you don’t even thank me.

Am I going to have to mention you every time you send me something i end up using in the podcast?

Lol, Jacob. so honest and brutaly frank. Isaac, take it as thanks that he used your ideas! or do you need ego stroking. If i sent some shit in and he used it i would be thinking thats fukn awesome. Even if he did mention me, i would be the only one who would recognise myself, every other listener would be thinking “whos this person”, then forget.

Not EVERY time, just ONE time would be nice. And no, my ego is non-existent.

I’m surprised no one brought up that ship captains can marry people at sea, and maybe that was what brought on this edict. Maybe it’s kind of a territorial thing, or maybe being at sea isn’t enough “hallowed ground” to sanctify a marriage or soemthing fiddly like that. Which is not to say it couldn’t still be a way to shore up (no pun intended)church wedding income.
