Welcome back for another episode of The Good Atheist Bonus show. This week Ryan and I talk about Near Death Experiences, why I’m a bad brother, and the British military’s decision to ban the use of dowsing rods bomb detectors. It’s 36 minutes of TGA fun, but it’s only available to patrons only. If you aren’t yet a member but love the show, why not become a member and benefit from an entire year’s worth of bonus podcasts, as well as our entire back catalog of shows (that’s over 24 bonus hours right away!). That’s all for the super low price of 20 bucks a year (or $1.67 a month).

It’s a little dull

I’m sure if TGA had callers in it would get just as boring fast. Questions like Do you not think God is great? kind of push the religion rather than need a aheist response.

Some ideas for TGA:
Agency – Our prehistory is of predators and talking natural selection what is clearer than that we are afraid of what will come and kill us, black cats, etc. These “agents” we still have fear of but they’ve transformed into Global Warming, Hurricanes, and the old God. How did God become an agent? Why do I hear in a big box luthern church in Calgary that we should fear God? Is not God sold to our fears? God and fear the same thing? If I choose what I’m afaid of to still be the black cat am I not better off than choosing the agency to be divine communication?
The Devil and Daniel Johnston – I would like to hear what you have to say about this movie from an atheist perspective. You might say that religious fanatics are “crazy” but what about schizophrenics, artists, etc are they not crazy in a more innocent way then christians, be they moderates or fundmentalists….
