If anyone gets a chance they should look up “freakanomics” he basically showed that the less unwanted children a society had at any point in time vastly reduced the crime rate. (he didn’t promote abortion but basically sound family planning).

Also interesting fact. America has the highest abortion rate for all the industrilized nations by over 2x the national average of the closest. They lead in teenage pregnencies by a simular margin.

In short of these people were serious about stopping abortions they would promote proper sex education in schools.

I find it terribly Ironic and stupid that the same people who want to stop abortions are the same ones who are causing the problem in the first place.

On the discussion of freedom: the majority oppressing the minority is not a free country. One is free to hold any belief they choose so long as it does not infringe on the freedom of others. Allowing a bunch of people thinking slavery is a good idea is a free country; Actually having slavery is not a free country. Now replace slavery with banning abortions.

What some people seem to forget is that Pam Tebow already survived her slim chance at survival. This means that all those other mothers who may be forced into complications leading to death won’t affect her. That’s why she can be so smug about it. It’s awesome when forcing people to conform to your beliefs fucks over someone and you don’t change a thing. America, fuck yeah.

Abortion is legal, but it remains controversial. There has been an ongoing push to change or undermine abortion laws. The issue incites violence and harrassment. Everyday there are people attempting to overturn this right.

Of course no one has to agree with every decision the Government makes, but we can still criticize each other for the beliefs we hold. Although I believe he was referring to America the people, not America the Government.

I have a really difficult position when it comes to Pro-Choice, Pro-Life things. I guess you could say I’m Pro-Adoption (with the caveat that I don’t know much about the laws / costs associated with it.) I would prefer an unwanted baby goes to a family that cannot have a child than for it to be thrown away.

That stated, my caveat holds true, that I don’t know about whether or not Adoption requires a lot of work / money / red tape. I think that we have no business telling a woman she can’t have an abortion, but I don’t think abortions should be the new form of birth control for idiots who can’t use a condom.

Can’t really believe that it’s 2010 and still, still people thinks that women aren’t allowed to control their own bodies.
People that still thinks that unwanted unborn embryo/fetus can grow up and have a bright future OR they just don’t give a shit about their future.
People that just don’t get it that unwanted children are more likely to be criminals, due to lousy family conditions.
People that thinks that embryos are human beings, with the ‘right’ to be born…

USA have a big problem caused by conservatives, religion and overall ignorance. However, I figure readers on this website, are smarter than the ‘prejudiceed’ view from an un-american.
