The Story of Elisha done right

Remember that weird Bible story about how God killed a bunch of little kids for making fun of prophet Elisha’s baldness? They don’t exactly teach this gem during Sunday school, that’s for damn sure. Well, seems like someone made a pretty awesome video exposing this story for the twisted shit it really is, so enjoy!

Bears killing the pestilent youth, it doesn’t get any better than that.

I’ve always loved that story. I’m not sure the kids get killed though. I would think the text would have said “ripped apart” if that were the case – rather than mauled.

I’ve always wondered why is specifies that the bears are “she-bears”. I mean, why does it really matter? A mauling is a mauling. lol

It really dawns on you after you become an atheist how much you excuse the violence of God. I remember reading passage after passage like this and honestly saying ‘Yeah! Go God, that’ll teach those non-believers to tease your prophet.’

Of course now being enlightened, I’m sickened by what I did in my faith. I wish I could find this girl I talked to online a while ago and apologize profusely for treating her how I did. She was a lesbian, and I pretty much condemned her to Hell because of it. I made her cry, and it makes me so incredible upset to think back on that now.

Also, @Nathan – according to the KJV of that passage, they are indeed torn apart:

24 – And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Tare is archaic for ‘tear.’ So yeah.

Surprising how many Xtians claim to be unaware of this story. I still think God was a bigger toilet when he killed the first born of all Egypt though, even as a child I thought it was a repulsive act – what an utter bastard.
