Remember a few months back when I was toying around with the idea of “Rap-Sure”, a kind of insurance for loved ones “in case” the special few get raptured? Well, looks like someone already beat me to the punch. Bart Centre (is that even a name?) is the co-owner of Eternal Earthbound Pets, and he promises to look after your animals after the Rapture for the budget price of $110.
Bart’s insurance policy lasts about 10 years, so if there’s no Rapture in that time, your policy expires. Sounds like an awesome way to make a bunch of money from silly Christians who think Jesus is coming back “any day now”. It’s been 2000 years and the guy is a fucking no show. When will his followers finally accept that it’s all just fairy tale bullshit? Well, at least some people are cashing in on the scam…
NOTE: check out some of the hilarious comments in the article.
Funny thing is, if/when he’s wrong, do you really think he’s going to take care of the pets. Uh, no. Just another con man looking to make money. And the fact he’s atheist is typical.
Yeah, he really has to worry about taking care of all those pets, cuz Jesus will be here any minute. Have none of these people seen “Waiting of Godot“?

That’s funny. Where do you come up with all this stuff?
As for Jesus, he will return when all hope for mankind has been lost. There are still a lot of good people in the world. It could be another 2,000 years or more. No one knows. But then again, contrary to what you might believe, Christians don’t care how long it takes. It could take a million years and they’ll still be waiting in joyful hope. Can’t you see that the whole religion is centered around HOPE? Jesus himself is our HOPE.

@Mark
FALSE hope, you mean.

Yep Hope. Hope in that some illiterate Jewish peasants weren’t talking out of their asses when they were tryin to “big-up” their apocalyptic rabbi who was squashed like a gnat by the Roman Empire.

Do you honestly think that the religion of Christianity will last another million years; because I’m almost certain that the people of this world will move on from such things in another million years. I mean, it’s not all that often that you hear of something that’s been in use/practice for over a million years.

Uh..yes.. Bart Centre REALLY is a name. It’s mine
Hi, it’s my website and business you are discussing. If you like my site you’d probably love my book The Atheist Camel Chronicles: Debate Themes and Arguments for the Non-Believer. It’s in the top 15 best atheist books on Amazon.
There was a chapter in my book that spoke about end times and 2012, and Iwas musing about how I could cash in on the hysteria. Bam! The rest is history.
Anyway, I can be reached through eternal-earthbound-pets@msn.com if anyone has any questions about my service.
Yours in reason,

I’m very torn.
On the one hand I want to give this guy a hand shake.
On the other hand I want to slap his wrist for basically scaming people.
However, he’s really not scamming peopple. He’s offering a basic service that people are buying and it can hardly be considered underhanded since people know he doesn’t believe the same thing they do.
So I guess a handshake is in order.

A fool and his money are soon parted, caveat emptor and all that. The fact he’s being up-front about it puts him miles ahead of all those hucksters and faith healers who pretend to be in on it and enrich themselves, and the narcissist televangelists who seem to actually believe in all that nonsense and believe themselves to be so important that they can cash in on it.

@Mark
You seriously HOPE for the world to end, millions of people be sent to hell because they don’t believe what you believe…You HOPE for this? Your religion HOPES for this?
Annd does anyone have a question that christianity is a dangerous religion?

Mark said: ” Can’t you see that the whole religion is centered around HOPE? Jesus himself is our HOPE.”
Hope?? LOL. Your whole religion is based on fear, torture, and death. Fear of going to hell, fear of god’s wrath, fear of being left behind, fear of not getting your reward, god-fearing. Torture for eternity, dead things rising, corpses opening their graves and beaming up to paradise.
Heck, I would be hard pressed to think of a creepier horror movie than the insane doctrine you Christrians embrace.
The only HOPE you have is the HOPE this life isn’t all there is. To which I say “Abandon Hope All Yea Mindless 4th Century Cultist Sheep … what you see is what you get.”
