Here’s the thing; we all have a few assholes in our group of friends, and we generally hope they won’t do anything to fuck up your life. So when these same assholes do something like repeatedly deface an atheist billboard in Idaho*, we all shake our heads disapprovingly and move on.
I actually think that allowing religious jerkoffs to mess with your billboard is actually a good thing; most people find this kind disrespectful juvenile tactic to be counter productive, and if you’re trying to make a point (like that believing in God sure doesn’t mean you are forced to respect property rights), this is usually the way to do it.
I’m sure this little game of cat and mouse will keep happening for a while, but what can you do? The world is full of assholes!
*I originally wrote that it was in Russia, but I’m an idiot. Thanks for clarifying, Charles

That’s pretty funny, what the vandals did. You know what would be funnier? Next time they climb up to deface the billboard, they get shot in the leg.

If the billboard read “Millions are good with God” you know some atheists or maybe just some cheeky kids would write in the “out” at the end. I’d say their motive would be a little different, but this stuff is going to happen regardless. I wouldn’t get too upset about it. Plus I don’t really get what these billboards are supposed to do, maybe get younger people thinking about religon/atheism…? Its not as if anyone with any beliefs is going to change them after reading this billboard.

That would be Moscow, Idaho, not Moscow, Russia. That’s why the sign is written in English, not Russian.

That is so ironic it’s funny!

“Let’s tell those infidels we’re good by commiting crime!”

I checked out Christopher Hitchen’s book, “God is Not Great” at the library the other day and someone had vandalized it in a similar manner. Stuff like this is about 90% hilarious, 10% pathetic.

If these fuckwads keep it up, they won’t have enough spray paint for their teabag rally signs.

Stuff like this doesn’t surprise me in the least. Total freedom in the US only belongs to the majority.

The sign wasn’t vandalized by the state or on the authority of the state. The vandals weren’t allowed more freedom to vandalize. They have the same freedom to vandalize that atheists do.

MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 332 viewers of a news clip regarding laws in Europe that prevent teenagers from using indoor tanning beds. Results found that the majority of viewers who use tanning beds (64%) will tan indoors less after watching the video. After seeing the video, an overwhelming majority of viewers (87%) thought that there should be laws restricting teenagers under 18 from using indoor tanning beds.
More in depth results can be seen at:
