Oct. 5th is World Habitat Day

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit the UN and I don’t always see eye to eye. While I love the idea of countries coming together to try and ameliorate the plight of people, the truth is what sounds good on paper doesn’t always end up working in the real world.

Of course, right now there is no real alternative, and occasionally, they do something right. Recently, they’ve chosen the first Monday of October to be known as World Habitat Day. This means they want to raise awareness of the plight of millions of people who have no homes, or who live in substandard conditions. Liza over at worldhabitatdailynews asked me if I could tell you guys about it in the hopes of raising awareness, and despite the fact I’m a Godless heathen, I’m a big softie when it comes to the plight of the homeless.

So tell your friends, family or anyone else you might think would care about this. Do your part, you immoral atheist devils!
