The stupid, it burns!
August 14, 2009 11:35 am
This video has been floating around in a variety of other atheist blogs, and at first I was reluctant to post it up, since I felt at the time that I couldn’t be sure if this was real or just an act. I’m sorry to say that this embarrassing video appears to be the real deal, and Molly and her friend are as ignorant and stupid as they first appeared to be.
I felt bad for that poor Indian girl getting lambasted for not believing in Jesus, and for essentially being called a liar when she claimed to be from Asia (the girls don’t seem to understand that Asian doesn’t only mean “Chinese”, and that not all dark skinned people are from Africa). If you can stand the stupidity, enjoy!
*NOTE* I’m being told by a variety of people that this is actually parody, but if it is, it’s not very good. The whole point of creating parody is to make it obvious (and therefore enjoyable). Since there’s such a fine line between real fundamentalism and it’s fake counterpart, what is important is to make your jokes clear. Otherwise, all you are doing is repeating what the fundies are saying, and confusing the shit out of everyone else. Besides, I’m still not 100% convince is IS parody. If you want a good example of parody done right, visit this guy.

I’m not sure why anyone would stay after Molly said this: “One regular one and one Indian one.”
-
I’m one of the ‘irregular’ ones, then….except I’m the smoke signals indian, not the dot one. :0P
-
I don’t get how that Inidian girl wasn’t literally ripping her own hair out during this conversation. “Why aren’t you’re eyes pointy?” is just… wow.
-
welcome to jesus land…wow the ignorance is shocking
-
“You don’t celebrate Christmas?!?!”
Santa Claus = Christmas
WTF?!?

I know that you say this is real, but I refuse to believe that. Just as the two “regular” girls refuse to believe anything other than Jesus, I will not accept your claim. I really think that my head will explode if I am forced to admit that this level of ignorance and stupidity really exists. So, for my own sanity, I’m going to pretend that this video is completely fake. Thank you.

… I am left speechless by the dumb.
Saraa is about 9000 times more patient than I am.

Yet another good example of “Poe’s Law” in action. There are perfectly good reasons to believe it is fake. And there equally good reasons to believe it is real.
I’m leaning towards saying it is fake. But I am definitely not sure.
They talk about the reaction to the video in another video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edksXwy1F30
But it doesn’t really help much. They must be about 15 years old. That alone is reason enough not to take them too serious.
-
The fact that they’re only about 15 leads me to believe it’s not Poe. I don’t think 15 year olds would be able to pull off a Poe like that.
-
Wow. The pain. That was… I don’t even know what that was, besides really pathetic.
-
one of the regular ones? WTF LOL epic stupid
-
I too am not sure if this was real. If it was real then props to Sarra, for getting up and walking out at the end . As if to say “Ok, we can’t be friends. I’m fine with that. Goodbye.”
Good for her.

It might well be a Poe. But it’s not funny.
-
I think it is a Poe. Then again I thought Hell House was a mockumentary.
-
Guys don’t feed the troll, its obviously a video for trolling, although their intentions aren’t clear.
-
I’m speechless. Stupid is too nice a word.
-
They are fake, guys. It’s all a joke. Check out their other videos. Sarra shows up again in Going Green For God. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3HupCRZdHo

It is in fact true. Molly and her friends got the best of us, and is still working people up into a frenzy.
I think if you watch her other videos you will see it too. (look at her favorites on her channel as well.)
I say well done to Molly, Rachael and Sarra.

This is fake, right? Nobody is that stupid. Actually, now I think about it, a lot of people in my school probably are. But even so…

It was satire for sure. The tags include Henry Fielding which was famous for the use of satire in his novels and then there’s Poe’s law in the tags which makes the clear point that it is hard to tell parodies of fundamentalism from the real thing, since they both seem equally insane.

The ending of the video led me to think it was fake. The lack of “emotions” when they can’t be friends seems a bit strange to me. I would think either a sad, reserved attitude, or something closer to anger would be more convincing.
