I’ve been very hard on President Obama, partially because the office itself requires all kinds of bullshit religious tap dancing meant to appease the religious right. Still, it’s nice to know this President doesn’t think he’s being instructed by God, but rather by the mandate handed to him by the people of the United States of America. Is this what having someone smart in office feels like?

I am a Christian and do believe that our policies should consider the views of all religous and non religous alike. But I also want to point out that believing that Christians follow the harsh laws of the old testament is ignorant, under the new covenant of Jesus Christ we are free of sin and can ask for forgiveness at anytime.
