Kirk Cameron’s “crocoduck”. Infallible proof that evolution is wrong!

Videos

In case you’ve never seen this video, I wanted to post it up to remind everyone just how ignorant and stupid Kirk Cameron really is. I don’t want to be mean about it, but this asshole is trying to get people to buy his special re-print of Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species” book which includes a 50 page intro that says, in a nutshell, that evolution is wrong. I think we can safely assume from this video that Cameron has never actually bothered to read the damn thing, but it doesn’t stop him from trying to fight science with all his fundamentalist might!

Also, I love how Bill O’Reily’s thinks he won a debate with Richard Dawkins about how the “world got here”. Actually, we can, but that’s besides the point. Bill wouldn’t listen even if you forced him. As far as he is concerned, he already has the answer, and it begins with “In the Beginning God created everything”. The only thing this guy ever won in his life is the “douchebag of the year” award.

*begins to slowly applaud Mr Cameron…*

..but a question: Where did the designer come from?

Also, for those interested, here is footage of the Dawkins/O’Reilly “debate.” Judge for yourself who won, I think it’s fairly evident.

Haha, He’s not serious. This is a joke. He had me up until he pulled out the crocoduck. That was ridiculous. You can tell he’s kidding after that. He looks like he’s about to laugh, but he holds it together. Is the host a religious guy? Did he not know that his guest was making a joke?

No hollywood career left. It’s easy for an actor to assume the role of a bibleman or whatever christian character. There’s hardly any depth to their personae. Easy money.

“there’s a lot of bitterness on the Atheist side, and there’s some bitterness with the religious community as well. we’ve seen intolerance at that level.look at with Jihad’ists, i mean look at these people who in the name of Allah are blowing up babies”

that’s right, OTHER religions have bitterness….not yours Bill.

nothing bitter in the Christian side, nope. won’t find Christians protesting abortion clinics and attacking it’s doctors, stripping Gay rights etc.

  5. James Says:

If things such as a complex eye can only be explained by having been created by a creator then how would they explain such a complex thing as God. If the mere fact that complexity necessitates a designer then wouldn’t the ultimate in complexity, God, need to have been designed? And so it would go if we use their analogy to explain complexity.

  6. GreenStar Says:

one douchebag interviewing another douchebag. I remember being younger and having to watch Bible Man and all that other nonsense. Someone needs to protest outside of his house like all of those nuts do at the womans clinics. See how he likes it.

  7. Jeff Mills Says:

You atheists are extremely angry people who just want to live your lives your own way. By accepting that their is a God would mean changes to your lives. One day you WILL meet him and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

  8. Heath Says:

While the funniest part of his argument is the crocoduck, blatantly Kirk hasn’t the faintest clue about the theory of evolution in that both the corcodile and the duck share a common ancestor, as do all living things but they did not come from one another. ALL living things here today are about equally evolved Kirk. But the design argument has an interesting counterpoint. It may be true that the eye was designed or at least the blueprints manipulated I can maybe on a bad day concede it certainly seems designed. But why must we assume it was “god” why not aliens, a master race of supreme intelligence who started this project and then maybe killed themselves off in a nuclear war around the time of the great exctinction of the dinosaurs? It is more logically feasible at any rate.

  9. Sean Says:

Jeff; There may be a god. ID/Creationism may be right. Evolution may be false. However, we’re talking about science here; evidence dictates theories, not magic. We have mountains of physical data, and evolution is the best theory we’ve come up to explain it. It may be a huge, elaborate joke perpetrated by your god. I’ll grant you that. But scientifically speaking, we have no evidence to support that hypothesis.

I don’t deny that evolution has gaps which we’ve yet to fill in, but that’s the beauty of science; we will eventually understand how life began and how it works.

As to your actual post; yes, I do want to live my life my own way. You believe I’ll meet your god someday, I believe differently. Who’s right? What objective metric do we use to settle that conflict?

  10. AUJT Says:

“One day you WILL meet him and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Then what? More bowing and scraping? And then what? Certainly Jeff knows what’s on the agenda. If one can make it to the frothy worshiping part then one should be able to imagine what else will be taking place with complete certainty.

Herein lies the problem, that *nothing* from a religious view is well thought out. Following their logic, god simply *must* have a designer. They are not interested in the truth. They are afraid if they don’t believe then they’ll spend eternity being tortured. I’ve no use for a “god” that allows such things. So, they are in denial because they simply *must* believe no matter what. They have no choice. It’s pretty sad.

A bit confusing, who is the top man? God or jesus? Shouldn’t my knees bow to god? Or does jesus also have that power. Thought it were only god that forced you to do things? Always felt jesus were a likable hippie, going around drinking wine and talking about peace all day.

Harold from NORWAY (The country were probably over 85% of the population is atheists)

  13. Mercer Says:

@Harold : I guess 85% will spend an eternity in a continuous torture. G, Hell is going to be quite crowded.lol.

“One day you WILL meet him and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”
Ok, and how the heck you’re going to recognise him? Is he going to have a name tag? is he going to come over and say good things? Is he going to walk around and cure people? I mean seriously? HOW? How is this going to work?
“Ok guys I am here. Now we’re going to make a selection of who gets a ticket up and who get’s a ticket down. Let’s start interviewing. (good I don’t work in HR anymore.”
Guys, wake up. Since the beginning of history people from different cultures were having theories(back then were legends) of how the earth and people were created and all that.
I’d rather believe in aliens populating the Earth than some crazy book made by humans.
It’s funny though, how some people try to scare with this bullshit. Do your research and than belive…don’t just blindly believe in something that you don’t know.

  14. Dingo Says:

    Taken from CatholicReference.net:

    TRINITY, THE HOLY
A term used since A.D. 200 to denote the central doctrine of the Christian religion. God, who is one and unique in his infinite substance or nature, is three really distinct persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The one and only God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Yet God the Father is not God the Son, by generates the Son eternally, as the Son is eternally begotten. The Holy Spirit is neither the Father nor the Son, but a distinct person having the divine nature from the Father and the Son by eternal procession. The three divine persons are co-equal, co-eternal, and consubstantial and deserve co-equal glory and adoration.

Most likely Mr. Mills is a Catholic.

And yes, this definition makes my head hurt when I think about it. God is both three separate entities, but yet just one? When I see statements like that I tend to just shrug. People will believe what they want to believe. The best one can do is provide information about all of it, and hope people will at least try to make an educated decision about it.

I believe in the supernatural, but more or less because of a lack of counter-evidence. Once science advances far enough to either prove or disprove such things, and if the evidence proves I have been wrong, I will be among the first to admit it. Afterall, people used to believe that the Earth was flat.

  15. Oh, Hi Mark Says:

    Evolution.

Obviously it exists in some form. I’ve often wondered why some people get some upset about it. Over the years I think I’ve figured it out.

First off – species adapt to their environment, but there is no proof of one species evolving into another. There just isn’t. Sorry.

Secondly – the evolution movement is strongly tied to the eugenics movement of the early 20th century. Eugenics is pretty ugly.

There you go. Lots of anger and arguments distilled down to a couple of basic points.

  16. Kurgan Says:

    Oh, Hi Mark-

“First off – species adapt to their environment, but there is no proof of one species evolving into another. There just isn’t. Sorry.”

You can be as sorry as you want to be, but its clear you haven’t taken a biology course in the last hundred years or so. If I didn’t think you would be wasting years of your life I would recommend trying to find an actual biologist to support your opinion.

“Secondly – the evolution movement is strongly tied to the eugenics movement of the early 20th century. Eugenics is pretty ugly.”

People took Darwin’s theories and came up with Eugenics and Social Darwinism. Yes, Eugenics is bad, and Social Darwinism is bad, that doesn’t mean that Darwin was wrong. The same lack of logic could be used to say that Jesus was violent and immoral because Christians went on to conduct Crusades and the Inquisition. Just because someone abuses the teachings of a person (scientist or religious philosopher) does not mean that their original ideas were wrong.

Interestingly enough the largest proponents of Social Darwinism today are American Conservative Christians. They use the idea of a moral obligation for self sufficiency to justify conspicuous wealth and eliminating social programs to help the poor. After all, if there is one message Jesus had it was definitely, “Don’t help the poor. They’re poor because they’re too lazy to work, so they deserve to live on the street.” (This was sarcasm. Sometimes people don’t seem to be able to tell)

  17. Joe Says:

I have a feeling Kirk Cameron’s ‘Evolution of species’ is being sold pretty cheap, buy it and just burn the first 50 pages. Or you could probably download a PDF of the original masterpiece.

‘the evolution movement is strongly tied to the eugenics movement of the early 20th century. Eugenics is pretty ugly.’ straw man argument? guilt by association?
