What I'm always surprised about is that creationists think that there theory is NEW and is challenging the mainstream theory......

Evolution is the NEW theory it's only 150 years old and only widely accepted for the last 75 years at most.
Creationist theory is over 6,000 years old questioning it was not allowed and when evidence was brought forth it was found to be false after a lot of god fearing public sandbagging/threats.
Now they are saying that the scientific community is doing the same thing to them as was done to the scientific community.

She is right about one thing people need to be taught about history a lot more.

I'm very glad that Robert directly questioned why she avoided the question instead of moving on to the next question like I see in so many other debates.

The thing is that what she is saying is perfectly correct, science should teach past mistakes of the scientific comunity and how do we know things to be "true". Science should be about teaching why creationism is bunk, it should install virus busters in our children's heads.

The problem with clips like this is that the science enthusiast always comes of looking like a liberal Bill O'Reilly-eqsue holier than thou bully. Despite the fact that everything this woman says is bullshit she comes off as humble and people will be more attracted to that then what the science guy was saying.

Gahhh I'm so sick of these super-Christian women with their uppity annoying voices...science is about teaching facts, it isn't an open debate! "Education" is supposed to encompass the passing on of a range of factual concepts and critical thinking skills to the next generation. Why are we going to pull people backwards (outside the realm of history/sociology/anthropology/etc and inside the scope of science which is primarily a forward-looking subject) just to let some people marinade in their delusions?! *sigh* When will the mental vultures leave the kids alone?

So, she would rather her child be taught ideas that she even agrees have been disproved than just leave the issue alone? I think we have found the missing link to America's stupidity.
