GOP hates science

Republicans have slowly turned into a bunch of science hating rednecks. They deny every piece of science that contradicts their narrow ‘God gave us oil for our use’ view. This guy has refused to answer the question of whether or not he believes in evolution. He either doesn’t or refuses to admit he does to please his undereducated and extremely religious constituents. Both of these possibilities are upsetting to say the least.

Oh, and in case any of you are wondering about clean coal, it’s bullshit.

Clean coal isn’t BS, it’s mainly a term referring to the carbon content of the coal. If you have anthracite like most of the UK coal power stations that goes to near complete combustion, so while it may still be pumping out CO2 there are relatively few sulphur compounds given off.
More ‘Dirty’ coals such as lignite are used in more developing countries where it is more economic to extract, these will produce more CO2 as well as they burn less efficiently so more has to be burnt to get the same energy output, it also produes a lot of SOx and NOx compounds.
Clean coal technology can also refer to the processes of scrubbing exhaust gases to remove some of the more harmful gases and particulate matter.

it’s a misnomer because it makes people believe that it’s more “environmentally friendly” to use it. But when you filter out the particles and other noxious compounds out of it, you’re still left with a shitload of carbon being produced. Check out a documentary called “Global Dimming” to see what kind of effect happen when greenhouse gases come out “clean”

Typical politician, refuses to make a statement that clarifies his stance on any issue for fear of losing votes. Boo!
