Atheist bus success!

Just when you think your country can’t get anything right, something happens that makes you thankful everything hasn’t totally gone to shit. Today’s bit of good news comes from Ottawa, which has now approved the atheist bus campaign after previously refusing it on the grounds it would offend people. Here’s the best quote from the article:

…Cullen went on to say that just because an opinion makes people uncomfortable doesn’t mean that it is okay to stop that opinion from being he(a)rd. He also mentioned the power of transit buses in terms of being effective tools for movements. He said “that city buses are not a trivial matter, since it was on buses that American black people gained civil rights in the 1960s.

Well, I don’t know if I’d romanticize buses to that degree, but it’s nice to know there are people out there who still fight for the right of people to express themselves. It seems as though the whole world is trying to force us to talk ‘nice’ about religion. Luckily, all you TGA fans out there may rest assured  I will never be able to say something nice about anything!
